NEW COUNTRY REHAB sign to Kelp! /January 21, 2013
We’re chuffed to bits to welcome New Country Rehab (NCR) to the Kelp fold for their second album Ghost of Your Charms, due out March 5, 2013. The band that was described by UNCUT Magazine as “Canada’s answer to the Avett Brothers and Mumford and Sons” have been added both to Kelp’s label and management rosters.
Ghost Of Your Charms explores love, loss, death and decisions through its eleven tracks, nine of which are originals. Recorded in Toronto and guided by producer Chris Stringer (Timber Timbre, Ohbijou), the new album shows off their unconventional instrumentation: lead singer John Showman drives the band with his dynamic fiddle playing; guitarist “Champagne” James Robertson uses a raft of pedals to astonishing effect; drummer Roman Tome sets the groove on a hybrid kit which includes a sawblade cymbal and goat hooves shakers; and, freewheeling bassist Ben Whiteley plays his acoustic double bass to abandon.
“Luxury Motel” is the first track available for download, from our SOUNDCLOUD page.
